Well, once again, it has been a while since I have updated.  I think about doing so all the time, but never just go and do it. So, I am making myself do it tonight. I am just going to post a few slideshows of what we have been up to lately. Enjoy, and I will try not to let it be so long the next time!

The Next Tiger Woods September 8, 2009

Gavin loves any and everything sports! These days he has been into golf!  My friend Allison got him some kiddie golf clubs for his birthday.  Whenever he pulls them out, he then wants me to find golf on the tv. Thank goodness for the golf channel!  The only thing is that after watching on tv, he thinks that he can hit his clubs like the pro golfers!  That does not go over very well inside!  I had to capture some pics of him last week.  He has this old glove on mine that he likes to put on while “golfing”.  Here is what I caught! I thought they were too cute!  PaPa, maybe you finally got your golfer!

Well, quite a few people have been asking me to post some belly pics, and I finally took some!  These were actually taken a couple of weeks ago.  I was 20 weeks at the time.  Here ya go!  I will take more soon and try to keep them updated.

 

Zoo Time! September 8, 2009

The weather has been great here the past few weeks.  A few Sundays ago, we decided to take Gavin for his very first trip to the zoo!  It took us forever to get him there, but we finally made it, and he seemed to have a good time.  We walked around and saw the animals, and then we went to the bird show that has been going on at the Little Rock Zoo all summer.  That was really neat to see the different birds flying right over you and to learn about them all.  I must say though that I think Gavin’s favorite part of the day was riding the carousel!  He rode with his daddy and did not want to get off when it was time to go.  Here are a few pics.

 

Moving on UP!!!! August 20, 2009

Gavin started in his new classroom on yesterday, and I must say that this has been his best transition yet!  We will so miss the Muppet Room and Miss Renee and Miss Linda.  Gavin learned so much while he was in their class.  He can name around ten different colors, and count up to twenty.  He sings so many songs, some of them I can catch on to and some I have no clue.  I thank them for taking such good care of him and teaching him so much!!!

Here are a few pictures of Gavin as he was heading off for his first day in his new class yesterday!  I bought him a mini-backpack, and he has been so excited about it!  He won’t let me carry it for him!

 

Happy Birthday Evan! August 10, 2009

This past Saturday I took Gavin to a birthday party for his friend Evan.  They had a backyard barbeque and water play party!  It was lots of fun!  Gavin had a blast playing in the kiddie pools!  I took a video snippet of the fun he had in the pools.  This is only a short clip of what he was doing for about one hour straight!  All of the other kids finished playing, and he was still there.  At one point, I looked and he was just laying back in the pool looking up at the clouds and the trees!  Click on the link to see the clip and then see some fun pictures below!  Thanks Evan for inviting us!  It was a great time!!!

It’s My Party! July 28, 2009

Well, we had a great weekend celebrating Gavin’s 2nd birthday!!!!  We had his party at the North Little Rock Athletic Club, and the kids had a great time.  They had a soft maze to climb through with a slide and a ball pit.  Then, the kids went out to to the basketball court and played there (Gavin’s favorite part!!!).  While on the court, there was also a bounce house for the kids to jump in.  The NLR Athletic Club took care of it all, from cake to ice cream to party favors.  We pretty much just had to show up!  Everyone seemed to have a great time!  Thanks to everyone that took time out of there weekend to come and celebrate with Gavin!

There are two slideshows below for you to enjoy!  The first picture you will see in the first slideshow is of one of Gavin’s cake that was made by my friend Amanda, one the Crazy Cake Ladies, who also made his first birthday cake last year!  Her cake is the one that looks like a jersey!  Thank you so much Amanda for the very cute and very tasty cake!!!  If you live around here and need a great cake, let me know and I can get her info to you!  The second slide show is a video of Gavin playing with one of his birthday toys that he just loves.  I, on the other hand, have already gotten a little worn out with the guitar!  Thanks Carla! You can see for yourself how much fun he is having with it.  We may have a future musician on our hands!

Okay, I just had to throw this last picture in.  Gavin’s friend Jackson couldn’t make the party, but sent Gavin a gift. Thanks Jackson for the Mr. Potato Head and friends!  Gavin has been having fun playing with them.  Can you tell which potato heads Gavin put together? Too cute!

Happy Birthday Gavin!!! July 23, 2009

Wow!  Where did two years go?  People always tell you to cherish every moment because the time flies by, but you don’t really realize how true that is until you have your own child.  It is hard to believe my baby boy is already TWO!   He is so full of energy these day and keeps us very busy!  He talks all the time now.  One of his favorite things to do these days is watch Barney!  I sometimes wonder why I ever let him watch that show…Now, he is hooked!  He also still loves to eat!  His favorite snack when we get home from school is yogurt, preferably strawberry.  He also loves fruit!  I wish he felt the same way about veggies.  We have to work on that one!  We have been testing out the big boy bed this week, and so far it is going okay.  It takes him a little longer to fall asleep, but once he gets there he does good.  I think that is all I got.  I want to try to remember all the little things he likes right now, so I may add to this when more things pop in my head.

Today, I took cupcakes up to his class, and we went for ice cream this afternoon.  MaMa and PaPa sent Gavin a portable DVD player for his birthday today.  This should be a lifesaver on those long road trips.  THANK YOU MaMa and PaPa.  We surprised Gavin with a Barney DVD this morning, perfect for his new DVD player.  Thanks to everyone that called and textedwell wishes for Gavin today. Blog Issues… July 23, 2009

Okay, so my blog has been giving me lots of problems lately!!! That is why I haven’t posted in a while!  I am still having some issues with things showing up right.  But I refuse to go any longer without updating! Therefore, here we go with a super long update!!!  June was very busy with birthday parties, baseball and a trip to the beach!!!!  Here is a recap of what Gavin has been up to!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA-KATE!

One of Gavin’s best friends at school, Anna-Kate, had her birthday party a little over a month ago at Larry’s Pizza!  Gavin and Anna-Kate have been in the same rooms since they started out as infants!  Gavin had a great time playing with some of his daycare friends and eating lots of pizza!  This was the first party that we went to that he actually sang the Happy Birthday song!  Thanks for inviting us Anna-Kate!  Here are a few pics. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ARKANSAS TRAVELERS NIGHT!

ACH hosted a family night for all employees mid-June.  Gavin and I went to the game and met up with some of my friends from work and their kids!  Gavin did not watch much baseball, but he had lots of fun playing in the kiddie area and eating the lollipop Ms. Leslie brought for the kids!

PENSACOLA TRIP!

We went to Florida to celebrate my brother-in-law’s retirement from the Navy.  While we were there, Gavin took his first trip to the beach.  He was a little unsure at first about both the water and the sand, but once he got used to it, he did not want to leave!!!  Enjoy the slideshow!

FUN TIMES WITH ELI!

Eli invited us over to play in his kiddie pool and his brand new sand/water table! The boys had a good time together!  They played separately for quite a while, then they warmed up and started playing together.  Allison, thanks for having us over!

A couple of weeks ago, we went to our friend Natalie’s first birthday party!  It was so much fun! Gavin had a great time playing with the pool of balls and in the playhouse in Natalie’s backyard!  Great job getting the party together Stephanie!
