Here Comes Santa Claus…Again December 29, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — thejamesfam @ 8:53 am

Okay, I thought I posted this before we left for Christmas, but it did not go through.  Here are a few more Santa pics a little late.  Christmas pictures coming soon…

Gavin got a chance to see Santa again at his daycare.  He was not too fond of Santa this time.  His teacher actually said that not many of the kids at all liked Santa.  She was nice enough to take a few picture for me.  Here ya go!

Decorating Ornaments December 23, 2008

I am really late in posting this stuff, but a few weeks back we also went to the Firefly Studio (a pottery painting place in town) to  paint ornaments.  We met up with Allison and Eli; Stephanie and Natalie; and Emily, Ethan and family.  All of the kids had a good time and it was good to hang out with the mom’s!  We will have to get together again soon.  Here are some pictures from our time there and of the finished product.

Breakfast with Santa!

Filed under: Uncategorized — thejamesfam @ 3:22 pm

A few weeks ago, Gavin and I went to Breakfast with Santa, a benefit hosted by the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation.  I wasn’t sure how Gavin would react to Santa.  We did not do Santa pictures last year, so this was his first experience.  He did pretty good.  Even though he was not super thrilled about it, he did not cry.  It was a great time!  There was good breakfast, fun crafts for the kids, and Gavin had a good time!  Here are some pics from the event.  You will see Gavin with Santa, his elf, coloring, writing a letter to Santa, and mailing it off!

Let’s Read! December 7, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — thejamesfam @ 9:39 pm

Gavin absolutely loves reading these days!  He will pick up a book and just babble about and turn the pages.  Then, he will bring it to us for us to read to him!  I captured some video of him reading this morning.  I thought this was too cute!  I just had to share the moment with you.  It does not show up as clear this time for some reason.  Click on the link below and watch.

Update Long Overdue… December 2, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — thejamesfam @ 11:45 pm

It’s been a little while since I have posted a blog, so here’s a peek at what we have been up to.  Bear with me.  This is three or four posts in one!

Well, I can’t post this super long blog without acknowledging once more that my team is STILL the #1 team in the country!!!  12-0!!!!  This weekend we defeated our arch rivals Auburn 36-0 after 6 long years of losing to them!  Here are some pics of me and Gavin celebrating the victory!!!

My sister Vicki and her family came out and spent Thanksgiving with us this year!  We had a great time, and Gavin discovered a new talent while they were here.  Take a look!!!

Even though he is on the mic here, he LOVED playing the drums too!  Are we going to have a buy him a video game already???

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas…

The Christmas Season is here, and I am more excited this year than I have been in a while.  I think these upcoming Christmas’ are going to be so much fun as we watch Gavin grow each year, and her starts to get into the holidays.  Here are some picks of me attempting to get a picture of Gavin in front of our Christmas tree to use for a Christmas card.  I captured a few cute looks, but it did not quite go as planned…

Doing the Most Good

We have a prayer group at work, and we did some outreach with the Salvation Army a few weeks back.  We were bell ringers for them one Saturday.  It was a great time and a wonderful experience.  Even though it was one of the coldest days we have had yet, we were all touched by this experience and it was great to be able to help out.  I encourage each of you to find a way to give back, not only during this Christmas season but throughout the year!  Thanks Emily for inviting us to be a part of this!

Gavin and I went to The Wonder Place with Denise and Emerson a few weeks ago.  Gavin had a great time!  The Wonder Place is a play place for young children here in Little Rock.  They have all kinds of different things for the kids to do. Gavin’s favorite by far was the water table.  Take a look at the fun he had!
