At 6 months, our little baby boy was just starting to scoot and he had no teeth. He had only been sitting up for a few weeks, and he just had a few babbles to share with us. He was getting used to baby food, and trying out a little juice. We got him a sippy cup at 6 months to try out a little too. He loved to cuddle and would just lay with you and snuggle all the time. Back then, he weighed in at 16 lbs. 4.5 oz. and he was 27 inches tall.
Now, at 18 months, he has changed so much. He is becoming so independent, and while you love to see them grow, I still sometimes miss those days when he would sit with us for long periods of time just to snuggle. While he is still very loving and loves to give hugs and kisses, they are much shorter periods of time! That scoot has turned into a full out run, and he now has 10 teeth, and a couple more trying to make there way in!!! And along with those teeth, come a pretty big vocabulary. This part has taken me a few days to observe and take notes. These are all of the words that I can think of that Gavin knows and uses pretty often: mama, daddy, ball, bubbles, dog, milk, duck, woof-woof, quack-quack, snack, shoe, sock, nose, eyes, mouth, oh toodles! (from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse), book, apple, bye-bye, up, jello, stop, light, block, all gone, thank you, cheese, please, no, hot, elmo, one, two, boo boo, hey dada, nasty (when we clean his nose), spoon, juice, fish, drink, eat-eat and a host of other words that he tries to repeat us saying! He loves to blow kisses and always does so when telling someone bye-bye! He loves to eat and can feed himself with a spoon. They sent his sippy cup home from daycare a couple of weeks ago. He only uses open cups there!!! We are not brave enough yet to do that all the time at home. It can get a little messy! At his check up last Friday, he weighed in at 25 lbs. 9 oz. and was 32 1/2 inches tall! He is a big helper and loves to help clean up and put things away. He is become quite opinionated these days too. He lets you know what he wants! He does still usually say thank you when he gets what it is he wanted. I think that is all I can think of to share right now. Here are a couple of then and now pictures. Thanks for reading!!!
